Reports coming in indicate there has been an explosion at a football viewing centre in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State.
The blast which happened about 8pm reportedly happened at the Crossfire venue, in the Nayi-Nawa area of Yobe.
Eyewitnesses report that scores of people gathered to watch a World Cup match between host, Brazil and Mexico were affected.
We are yet to get official confirmation of this attack but many people believe it is consistent with the activities of the dreaded Boko Haram Islamic sect which has operated in the North east of Nigeria killing thousands of residents.
Injured people have been taken to the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital in Damaturu.

Yobe is one of the three states currently under a State of Emergency declares by President Goodluck Jonathan to halt the violence. The others states are Borno and Adamawa.
