I must stop Nedlin - Jankris

As human beings, we are bound to have one issue or the other with our fellow human beings. Such issues that bothers on misunderstanding often lead to enmity and disdain among former friends or partners who might have crossed understanding of each other. When such situation arises, it's common to see both parties claiming innocence and being offended by the other party.
So is the green turned black friendship of two friends who are musicians, best still, up-coming acts. Nedlin and Jankris started their musical career almost the same time and both coincidentally are students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University who performs in various school events. Few times, they have performed on the same stage and acquainted with each other, that they became real good friends.
Trouble started brewing between the two musical friends when Jankris whose real names are Chris Egwu met Nedlin whose real names are Chinedu Franklin at the studio where he records his music. Unknown to Jankris, Nedlin has been a regular at the studio house before him and he has a strong relationship with the studio helmsman. Meanwhile, Nedlin was freestyling an instrumental his producer asked him to dare. When Jankris stepped into the studio, he was infuriated to discover that it was the same beat he helped the producer prepare the day before that he allowed Nedlin to sing with. The producer tried to calm him down that he purposely asked Nedlin to dare a freestyle just to test his skills and assured him that the sound still remain his project for his own production. But a visibly over-infuriated Jankris started shouting on top of his voice, accusing the studio producer of selling his production to another artiste he is contesting with in the same environment.
Nedlin unaware of what was happening came out of the recording box to query what was happening but met the greatest surprise of his life in form of a missed slap from Jankris. The wave of his hand showed that he meant a hard blow as Nedlin explained. Jankris went on top of his voice to say all sort of ill words to the duo. All efforts to make him to calm down was futile as he kept boiling on top of his voice accusing the two of sabotage and unfaithfulness.
When interviewed about this report, Nedlin said, "After he finished talking to the DJ in a saucy manner, he walked up to me where I was flabbergasted about the whole incident that seem like a dream to me and looked straight at me and said he is promising me that he will stop my career and that he will soon commence a legal case against me and the producer".
All efforts to reach the studio producer to say his mind proved futile as of the time of reporting this incident. Meanwhile, Jankris and Nedlin were both restrained from visiting the studio by the embattled producer.
Recall that Nedlin is the "Eze Ndi Ara" crooner which is making waves in Nigeria's entertainment sphere.

Nedlin: I Admire Artistes Like Wizkid

I was able to get the sizzling and sensational artiste shaking Nigeria’s music industry, “Chinedu ‘Nedlin’ Franklin”. In recent days, his latest musical single and record hit “Eze Ndi Ara” has been making waves in the internet as websites and blogs rush to get the song for their visitors to download. Not long ago before now, it’s quite difficult for upcoming artistes to impress the general Nigeria entertainment lovers with their music if the artiste is not established or member of a popular record label. But, it doesn’t seem to be same with this hit maker.
In this interview with Jetty Jet, Nedlin talks about his life and musical career and what he thinks about the music industry.

*Excerpts*

Jetty: It’s quite a delight to have you around. Good afternoon.
Nedlin: Good afternoon. The pleasure is mine. I feel real delighted too.

Jetty: Can you introduce yourself to my audience?
Nedlin: Sure! My name is Chinedu Franklin known by my stage name Nedlin. I am a Nigerian record singer, song writer and instrumentalist. I am a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and I hail from Isuochi in Umunneochi L.G.A Abia State.

Jetty: That’s a nice intro Mr. Nedlin. Good to have you here once again.
Nedlin: (laughs) The pleasure is all mine.

Jetty:  So, when and why did you started music?
Nedlin: I started when I was very small. I know I am still small. (laughs) But, there was something spectacular about those days, I just found myself loving music more than any other thing. During Sundays when I go to church, I make sure I sit near the choir singers. The way they sing with passion really fired up my mind. I love music and would love to sing, I told myself. And not long, I made up my mind that I am going to commit myself to music. And that was how it all started. I started it because of the passion I have for music.

Jetty: Wow! Quite an impressive beginning. How did you begin your life in music?
Nedlin: I started with learning how to use instruments.

Jetty: Which instruments do you play?
Nedlin: I can hit the drums very well and currently am learning the guitar.

Jetty: What was the first tune you learnt?
Nedlin:  I learnt the key C, in guitar and I equally learnt to beat some various drums patterns.

Jetty: Is your family musical?
Nedlin: My family loves music to the core. But, I seem to be the only one who has musical talent running in me. As much as I am a musician, my family supports me and my career.

Jetty: Interesting. So, what genre are your musical productions?
Nedlin: My productions are based on Afro, R&B, Dancehall and Rap.
Jetty: Is it possible that you could work on another genre like Reggae or Highlife or Worship, maybe an artiste from such genre featured you? (laughs)

Nedlin: (laughs) Why not? If you won’t take it as a brag, I can sing other genres if I am featured in genres I don’t sing. Don’t ask me how possible, I am a musician and I understand that music is an art that is borne within us as an individual, but one has to master it effectively to be able to carve out a niche for himself.

Jetty: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
Nedlin: I admire Wizkid. I admire him a lot because of the way he started from the bottom and now successful. I see him as a role model as regards to how he began from nothing and progressed to something through hard work.

Jetty: Were you influenced by old records or the modern day jamz?
Nedlin: Eeem. I don’t see myself as being influenced by either of them. I do my thing the way I propose it.

Jetty: What if I disagree with you?
Nedlin: (laughs) Then, I were influenced by both the olden days’ records and the modern jamz.

Jetty: So Nedlin, what are your fondest musical memories?
Nedlin: I still remember vividly the time I used to play drums with kitchen utensils when I was small with other kids. You know those days, we make good sounds with whatever we could find around us. It’s fun and very beautiful. I equally remember the first time I visited the studio to do voicing. Honestly, I was a bit nervous. But my performance that day proved to me that day that I could do this.

Jetty: Anymore?
Nedlin: Yeah. Another memory I cherish so much is when I won my first musical award. It was the happiest thing that happened to me last year, seeing my efforts being appreciated. I was getting invitations to perform at various events and each show is a wonderful memory on its own.

Jetty: Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? Albums?
Nedlin: My favorite musicians are Drake, Wizkid, 2face, Psquare and M.I. My best groups are Psquare and Bracket. And my all time favorite album is "Grass To Grace” composed by 2Face.

Jetty: Have you been in competitions? Any prizes?
Nedlin: Yeah. I participated in the UNIZIK Rap Battle Challenge and I won the competition.

Jetty: How much do you know about music theory?
Nedlin: Well, I don’t seem to know much about music theory. I am not a music entrepreneur to know everything about music theory. I think this question should be answered by the likes of Kenny Keke Ogungbe of Kennis Music or Don Jazzy of Mavin Records. (laughs)

Jetty: (laughs) Okay. Have you been featured in any public performance? Tell us if there is any
Nedlin: Yes, I have been featured in many public performances. I performed at the Anambra Street Carnival, Fellowship of Talents in Imo State, Star Trek 2016 in Awka and other major competitions. One thing that makes me happy about my public performances is the type of support I receive from fans. It’s truly enriching when you give fans the kinda thing they want and they throw back their maximum support to you. It’s a very big delight I think.

Jetty: What about song making? How do you handle mistakes during a production?
Nedlin: When I notice a mistake in any of my productions, l humbly meet my studio manager to complain to him and explain what I wish or how it could have been done. If the mistake is from me, I lower myself to accept corrections and help to make the production appeal to the fans.

Jetty: Do you get nervous during production at the studio or performance?
Nedlin: (laughs) No, I don’t get nervous now. I must confess that when I was not a regular to the studio, I usually get nervous whenever it’s time to put on the headset and sing to the mic. But you see, one thing about life is based on the adage that ‘practice makes perfect’. So, visiting the studio consistently and training helped boost my courage and morale during production or when I am performing in the stage. Right now, I don’t feel nervous anymore.

Jetty: Wow! That’s super cool. That means, Obi is no longer a boy? (laughs)
Nedlin: Exactly! (laughs)

Jetty: What do you think about the Nigerian Music Industry?
Nedlin: The Nigerian music is really developing and keeps improving in a high rate. It’s such a good development I must say. The type of artistes we have in the industry proves that, it’s not a child play. The quality of videos that we have now has improved greatly from what we use to see before. The type of producers and video directors on the helms is something worth to brag for. But one problem I personally distaste is the issue of godfathers or maybe boss-for-life attitude that some people subject artistes in. Such things are not good. And that is why you see record labels springing up like mushrooms. Because, when you treat a musician bad, he leaves your label and flaunt his own. Such things are not really good. If brands and maybe entrepreneurs can look into sponsoring up-coming artistes, our music industry will go higher than it is now.

Jetty: Okay. Do you attend sessions and what do you think makes a good session?
Nedlin: I do attend sessions. I am not perfect and besides, I always think of giving my fans the best of my talent. I think that a good session is one that helps you to generate and control your beat pattern, mastermind your production steps and empower the producer to give you what you will be proud of. An activity like this, to me, makes a good session.

Jetty: How often and for how long do you practice?
Nedlin: I practice two times in a week and any time I am in the studio, most times I practice up to 3 to 4 hours daily.

Jetty: What do you usually practice, new tunes, new beat, lyrical formations etc?
Nedlin: I practice new tunes and sometimes, when I visit the studio for practice, I direct the producer on how the sound formation could seem like to suit what I am practicing. I acknowledge that he has the final say, but during practice, I have such liberty to dictate what sound that is necessary.

Jetty: That’s fantastically smart. Ned, can you teach music to people like me?
Nedlin: What concerns a geek with music education? (laughs) Well, I can teach the little I have learnt to anyone who is willing to learn. Music is an art; anyone interested in music and is determined to learn it must be prepared to commit himself to it. It’s always better if you’re passionate about music, which will make the whole process a lot easier.

Jetty: How do you balance your music with other obligations like mate, education, family, social life etc?
Nedlin: There is time for everything, even the scriptures said it. I designed my mindset in such a way that I don’t have to find myself doing many things at the same time. I map out time for everything. For instance, I always visit the studio mostly during weekends and on my holidays. Then, when I am not in the studio or during sessions, I should be in the lecture hall or participating in any other activity that will benefit my life. My friends and family respect those times I set apart for my music and my career by not engaging me with anything that will distract me. For my family, I do make out time to stay with my family, more especially my siblings. In all that I do for the advancement of my musical career, I don’t allow it to affect my academic life. I live a simple life that ensures I meet up in all my social activities.

Jetty: So, any regrets so far since your career or scandal?
Nedlin: Not at all. I am full of appreciation to God for leading me to this extent and I thank God that to this time, I have not done anything that will warrant any sort of scandal linked to me. I give God all the praise and glory.

Jetty: What inspires your music?
Nedlin: I draw my inspiration from what is happening in the society and about my life experiences.

Jetty: Thank you so much Nedlin for your time, I appreciate your responses. Will be glad to have you next time
Nedlin: Oh! I appreciate a lot for the invitation and for the discussion.

7 Reasons For Mass Failure In Waec, Neco and Jamb 2014

We got this via email from a Naijaloadites!! NB:- The content is unofficial

Dear Nigerians, the reasons for mass failure of our teenagers in public exams are not far fetched.

1 FACEBOOK,YAHOO,TWITTER,MYSPACE and generally browsing on the internet instead of reading their books

2 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE and EUROPEAN FOOTBALL LEAGUES, it is easy for an average nigerian teenager to know the names of all chelsea players but same youths cannot tell you the square root 25 in mathematic. Worse still is that these days instead of seeing inscriptions like UNIVERSITY or SCHOLARS on the exercise books, what you see are pictures of paloma,Drogba,Beyonce,Omotola etc

3 DSTV,Home video and african movie magic, watching television and films endlessly.European champions league,English premiership,Barca,Blues,Chelsea,MAN U etc

4 GSM and BLACKBERRY, the average nigerian teenager uses the latest and expensive gsm phones just to show off that they belong, when they are actually nothing.

5 GSM TEXT LANGUAGE, I will not be surprised to see students write words like ur (for YOUR), 2moro,2mao( For tomorrow) in their EXAM sheets

6 QUEST FOR CHEAP FAME AND WEALTH, The government, electronic media(tv and radio) and companies have not been helpful at all.The average Nigerian youth especially the girls want to BE silver Birds most beautiful Girl and get cheap money and fame(Nobody has remembered all the previous miss world, but we still remember MOTHER THERESA),they want to win IDOLS WEST AFRICA, they want to be in NOLLYWOOD, they want to be TWO-FACE,they want to win maltina street dance ,they want to win starquest and GULDER ULTIMATE SEARCH

Warning is that wealth gotten by vanity shall DIMINISH.

7 The new craze of TALENT SHOWS: Suddenly The only talents our youths now have are music, dancing, acting and stand up comedies, they no longer have talents for maths, physics and entrepreneurship.

LEAVE A COMMENT!…..SHARE YOUR THOUGHT ABOUT THE SPECULATIONS..

Four Human Parts Sellers Arrested. SEE THEIR CONFESSIONS BELOW...

A GANG OF HUMAN PARTS SELLERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED BY THE OPERATIVES OF THE SPECIAL ANTI-ROBBERY SQUAD FOLLOWING A TIP-OFF.

THE SUSPECTS

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, thereafter directed the SARS Commander, Abba Kyari to arrest the four-man gang identified as: Olakunle Ogunsola, Oyebamiji Olalekan, Rasheed Opeyemi and Akorede Wasiu.

The gang members each confessed to the crime, revealing how much they buy the body parts, what they use the body parts to do and some of their buyers.

26-year-old Olakunle from Ilaro in Ogun State who is said to be the gang leader was arrested at the Ile Epo Market in the Oke Odo area of Lagos, Oyebamiji was caught at the Oja Oba Market in Abule Egba while the other two suspects, Opeyemi and Wasiu, were arrested in the Ajegunle and Ijaiye areas of Lagos respectively.

The gang leader, Olakunle who is married with a child made a shocking confession that he had sold human parts to both Christian and Muslim clerics in the past saying: "I usually sell herbs at the Ile Epo Market. It was one Waheed Ajigbotoloun that introduced selling human parts to me. That was just last year October. He was my supplier too, and he told me he used to get them from Joju Cemetery in Sango Ota, Ogun State.

"I didn't always buy the human parts except when there was a request for them from my customers. Upon request, I have bought human skulls and meat from him for my customers. Some of them are pastors, imams, and native doctors too. I have sold human parts to two pastors this year, but I cannot remember the names of their churches."

Olakunle, however added that the meat which he buys between N6,000 to N10,000 could be any part of the human body saying: "The first pastor I sold to is based in Sango Otta, Ogun State. He paid me N24,500 for the parts. The clerics use these to make their congregations move forward. I also use some of the parts to make charm powder.

"I am not the only seller in the market. There is also one Lukman, who we popularly call Oosa. But since I started, I have bought only six human skulls."

Olakunle claimed to have finished from the Lagos State University in February 2013 where he studied Accounting. He added that he financed his university education with proceeds from the sale of herbs and human parts.

Oyebamiji , a 40-year-old man who hails from Ibadan, Oyo State also confessed to selling human parts to many people saying: "I have been a trader at the Oja Oba Market for the past three years. It is not that I sell only human parts. However, each of the part I sold went for between N6,000 and N7,000. The supplier told me he was getting them from the cemetery. I have sold five to six pieces. I know it was wrong to do this, but I was looking for money."

For 51-year-old Opeyemi, a native doctor from Ikirun, Osun State who said he bought the human parts to cure one of his patients in the past said: "I am an Alhaji and also a star reader. I had called prayers several times at a mosque in the Ajegunle. I used the human parts only once for the treatment of one of my patients. The boy was cured and I never bought human parts from anyone again."

Meanwhile Wasiu, a 31-year-old married man with four kids native doctor from Sango Ota, Ogun State, said he bought two human skulls to prepare concoctions for women looking for children and confessed to have bought each skull for N4,000.

The police source said SARS men were still investigationing while adding that the suspects had confessed, naming more human parts buyers who had yet to be arrested.

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide is yet to comment on the development.

The former vice president, who made this known in a statement issued in Abuja from his media office said, the decision was part of measures to stop the APC governors from attending the campaign rally for their Ekiti State counterpart, Kayode Fayemi.

The Turaki Adamawa, who warned the federal government against impunity stated that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP led administration under President Goodluck Jonathan is turning the country into a police state following the restrictions placed on the way of the governors and party members.

Atiku pointed out that the action of the PDP-led federal government in stopping the governors of Kano, Rivers and Edo from attending the APC governorship campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, was in a Gestapo-like manner which is capable of turning Nigeria into a Banana Republic where fundamental rights of citizens are trampled upon with impunity.

He said it was very surprising to see the way the federal government has been dragging the military and police into politics.

"The government must stop instigating state security agents paid from tax payers money against helpless, and law abiding Nigerians" Atiku said. "Our gallant military men should remain focused on securing and protecting the territorial integrity of our great nation, especially in this time of terror attacks and insurgency across the country."

Atiku, who made a promise at the party's national convention that he would lead the movement to oust the present administration which he described as inept and incompetent.

The former vice president further asserted that the present administration has failed Nigerians, and reminded the populace that "a government that deprives its citizens from access to jobs and education as manifested by the on-going closure of some tertiary institutions, such as polytechnics, to be shut for nearly a year, has alienated itself from the masses and will definitely suffer the repercussion at the polls, use of force or not."

Atiku also reiterated that the APC remains the only viable alternative to the PDP-led government, saying: "is a prescription for socio-political peace, progress, equity, security, unity and national development."

POSTED BY MR. ATTITUDE......

Photos: Rihanna goes braless at basketball game

Oh Riri. She really couldn't be bothered with bras. The singer went bra-less at the Barclays Center in NY on Friday. She wore a semi-sheer vest without a bra and was very comfortable sitting on the front row...with all eyes on her titties. See more pics after the cut...
